Dr. Jane Battersby’s recent presentation on food security in Cape Town highlighted the stark challenges faced by both urban and rural communities in accessing nutritious meals. She explained how financial constraints force many households to rely on inexpensive, grain-heavy diets, often avoiding fresh produce due to cost.
